Incredibly stupid
An 8-year-old was killed yesterday in western Massachusetts when he lost control of the Uzi he was firing. That's right, a little boy accidentally shot himself...with a machine gun. It was the Great New England Pumpkin Shoot at the Westfield Sportsman's Club, and apparently an Uzi is the preferred weapon for putting down large stationary gourds.

I don't know what's worse, that the child was killed, that his father, a doctor who should know better, exposed him to this threat, or that the father said he was a gun expert, having been firing guns for 3 years, now. Imagine, that father put a loaded firearm into the hands of a 5 year old. I wonder about the mother and her position in this practice.
