A pair of stories on the
Boston Herald's web site today discuss the proposal to bring a casino to Suffolk Downs. One is about
the forces that have been hired by pro-gambling interests to push their agenda, while the second talks about
the prospect of a local referendum on the idea, which is part of Deval Patrick's plan. The question is: Does "local" mean a citywide vote in Boston or balloting limited, for example, to East Boston and Revere?
