Luminous words

It looks as though spring-like weather will be here later this week, but we've got another gray Saturday on our hands. To bring a bit of luminosity to the day I thought I'd share some words written by Walt Whitman:

This is what you shall do: Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul; and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body.

Jim why do you refuse to print any material on the ward committee? I think its an injustice. Don't you think there is an interest in local politics. You had a blog every day during the last two elections. Jim you are a sad case.

I am not sure what the issue is with the ward committee. I have heard nothing and I've read nothing that leads me to believe, right now, that there is a story or an issue of interest there. All I've seen are a few posts -- for all I know from the same person -- that are character attacks on one person, and I did let at least one of those get posted. Would you want your character repeatedly attacked with no specific accusations by an anonymous person?

Jim, I would like to speak to your manager because this has gone far enough. Who is that person?
