City Councilor Michael Flaherty is meeting with East Boston residents who stop by this evening at 303 Cafe from 5 pm to 7:30. Flaherty is a councilor-at-large from South Boston who has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the mayor's office in 2009.
303 is usually closed Mondays, but they are putting out light food for the event. They are located at 303 Sumner Street, not far from the Maverick T stop.

It doesn't matter who you support, I could care less but this political jealousy and nonsense, "man" from the point, "at least the mayor eats here" WOW! Let's rush to the polls because the Mayor eats here. I like the Mayor and think he has DONE a great job but his time is up. I went to the gathering tonight being relatively new to Eastie and thought it was pretty good, Mike answered questions and talked to the people. I am still undecided...but reading this ignorant comment only makes me want to leave this community more and more each day. That and the trash, the crime, etc. but hey if Menino eats here I am STAYING!

Secondly Mr. Flaherty addressed every concern, answered every question and had a wealth of knowledge to share with the residents who stopped by 303 last evening.
Third of all...if you feel the need to throw Mr. Caprogreco under the bus be a big enough person to have a frank discussion with him about why you feel the need.
I can assure you that Mr. Caprogreco is not the person who is "not liked very well". That belongs to you due in large part to these kind of posts you constantly leave.

In regards to the original post that seems to be your problem,I can say only one thing.The poster is right about the sexual assaults,but he forgot to mention NONE of them ever came back,and the Mayor was NOT there at that meeting.
I am related to one of the victims,and we never were contacted after that meeting.

Although I am "NO" fan of his Honor,I am without a doubt NO fan of People like you who dislike Eastie so much.

Flaherty is useless. He does nothing for Eastie. Name one thing he has done or contributed to in our community. He cares about Southie. He and Pat Capogreco are going down.

I know not to many will like this
post,esp.people who back the Mayor,aand Mike F.
However I feel compelled to weigh in.
The state of politics in Boston/Mass./The entire country is a mess.
Term limits should be the norm across the board.
City of Boston workers,or any other city should not be forced to live in the same city they work in.
In the case of Presidential elections,its time to make a 10000000000% over haul.
Every state should use the same voting machines.
Super delegates need to be discarded.
Now back to the Mayors race;
Mike will never win East Boston,
and the Mayor will no longer rule the major unions.
I agree with the woman that we should expect a bigger field of candidates than just these two.
But that will help the Mayor,and destroy any chance Mike would have.
Look for another DIVIDED East Boston,as was the case with the Drago / Basile election.
People are still hurting from that one ,and a few people have been CRUSHED,DESTROYED,HUMILIATED,AND UNFAIRLY PUNISHED FOR WHO THEY CHOSE TO ENDORSE.
NO ONE should be threatened,yelled at,or FIRED because they think different than the boss,or a friend,or family.
Anyone who knows the inside of Eastie politics will agree this last election had casualties,and have left scars all over the place.
As for me,I will not vote for either of these two.I want to see change.
Maybee Boston needs a board of recivership such as Chelsea had for a while,and who continues to prosper,as we continue to fight each other.
