Book signing today

Former Boston Herald and NY Daily News crime reporter Michele McPhee will be signing copies of her latest book today at 2:30 at 303 Cafe.

McPhee, who is now a talk-radio host on WTKK, has written a book called Heartless: The True Story of Neil Entwistle and the Brutal Murder of His Wife and Child, about the 2006 high-profile murder case of a Hopkinton woman and her nine-month-old daughter.

The cafe is located at 303 Sumner Street in East Boston. McPhee, who currently lives in Eastie, previously wrote Mob Over Miami.

A comment was posted this morning that refers to Michele McPhee as “nothing more than a relentless self promoting hack that (sic) wrote a book filled with errors and lies and gives journalism a bad name.” After that there were several inappropriate comments, so I deleted it.

I did, however, want to respond to the part that said, “Jim attacks other publications but in this case promotes a woman and her book -- and I venture to guess he didn't even read it.” Nowhere in my post does it say that I read the book in question. I don’t think I was promoting the book, but rather the book signing, and since the owners of 303 CafĂ© are nice people who are trying to do cool things in East Boston I will gladly continue to point out such events.
