Body found in Eastie dumpster

The body of a man was found yesterday afternoon in a dumpster on Border Street in East Boston, according to Boston.com. The story says that the police are offering few details except that foul play is not suspected. That seems to imply that the deceased, whose name has not been released, made his way into the dumpster himself.

To tell the truth
Says;

Again we are in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

To not suspect foul play is ridiculous.

Proof positive that we have a serious problem that a certain group of people want to ignore,or deny.

Mis information, controled information,or lack of information is not going to make anyone feel good anymore.

Bring Back the Walking beat Cops.

Yikes !

Before anyone jumps to conclusions, we should wait to find out what the police and coroner say. I'm sure there will be a report of the circumstances of this death when the information becomes available. It is entirely possible that this death is a homeless person who died either from natural causes or exposure. It is also possible this was a drug addict who OD'd or died from exposure or infection.

We all want beat cops, but we need to be realistic about what they can and can't do. Maybe a beat cop would have seen someone climbing into a dumpster, but that doesn't stop the larger problem that leads someone to seek shelter there. Beat cops can not prevent homelessness or drug addiction. They can't prevent teens from running away from home. They won't be able to stop every one who seeks the shelter of a dumpster on a cold October night. Those are social problems that require other solutions, like increasing the number of shelters and detox/rehab facilities and better resources to support families and children.

Well then maybe the Mayor, and our other Elected officials can use some of the revenue raised by the new tax hikes to help the homeless.

But you will have a better chance of hitting the lottery.

No one except people with a HEART cares about the homeless,or others who may be poor.

In my opinion those who can help do not have a Heart.

Thats simply because they have blinders on ,and have never been down looking up.

Good Job Jimbo on getting these facts out,Including the most recent armed robbery by a gun.

Good Luck East Boston ,you are going to need it !

You see ,not only did it not make the East Boston Times,(even after it being emailed to them, but no follow up press release from anyone.

We are in this alone, and they just don't wan't anyone to know how bad it is,and how bad its getting.

We the people do not count(actual residents) ,all of this stuff is controlled by the outsiders.

No one gets informed voluntarily ,it takes people like Jimbo ,and other to get the word out.

Time to get the moving truck.

Where is the follow up information?????????????

Where is the follow up Sexual Assault meetings?????????????

Where is the follow up information on the two armed robberies, one right after the Sexual assaults, and the most recent when the dead body was found in the dumpster on Border street?????????

Not going to happen folks ,they do as they please, and please no one.

Thats because they go home (not to Eastie) ,and have all the protection in the world we will never have.

Bring back Captain James Clibourne, and Sgt. Mike OcConnor,at least they were approachable.

I was at last month's Neighborhood Advisory Meeting and the sexual assaults and other local misbehavior was discussed. I don't know whether it was covered in the Eastie Times and I didn't get to meet everyone in attendance to be able to tell you if there was a reporter there. There were several meetings happening at the same time and John Lynds can't be everywhere and I understand he pretty much writes the whole thing. This does not explain why they didn't report the body in the dumpster, although it is entirely possible that there is nothing to report as yet.

Being new to the community, I don't know who the previous police leadership was, however I find Captain Cunningham and Sgt. McCarthy to be very approachable. They also have a new website (eastbostonpolice.com), but it doesn't seem to get updated very often. You could interpret that two ways: either they are not as open to communication as they could be or they are busy doing their jobs. Keeping a website updated is a lot of work and I'm sure they'd take any volunteers they can get.

There is a lot to criticize about our local police (they don't have the greatest relationship with area youth - at least not the Latino youth) but I've seen no evidence that they don't communicate with the community. I suggest you email the Captain and get on his email list (CunninghamR.bpd@ci.boston.ma.us).

Here goes Star again

A dead body in a dumpster may not be of interest to you,but I will bet if it was in a dumpster next to your house you would feel different.

And here you go again with the race card about the police not having a great relationship with the Latino youth.

I guess the Italian,Irish,African American youth does not matter much to you.

Hers a news flash Seperate but equal went out with Rosa Parks, there is no such thing.

In my opinion you LOVE to spin the race card.

I was brought up on the premise that everyone is equal, and to never assume other wise.

You are always crying poor mouth about how Latinos are some how short changed in Eastie, well you are wrong again.

As far as the East Boston Times goes its a usless rag. Any paper who relies on one reporter, and people to call him after a meeting, and then see his name on the by-line as if he was there is not a real newspaper.

You are trying to deflect reality,as did the African American people used to do.

Heres a stat for you from the FBI,92 % of crimes against African Americans in the past ten years were committed by other African Americans. So does that make it other peoples faults?

Good Luck in your never ending quest to say the Latinos are getting a raw deal.

My mother ,and Father learned to speak English from watching T.V.,they didn't have 25 free places to go learn how to speak English as is the case as we speak.

There is NO comparison between Captain Claibourne, and Sgt. Mike OcConnor.

They were simply the best this town ever had.

By now Tequilas would be closed,as was Charlie Zuffs,Danatalies, and Logans Lounge.
