Good luck to you! I'm sure you've heard this one a dozen times - make sure you remember to take out BOTH baggies from the bird. One has the neck bones etc., while the other has the liver and all of that stuff. I was 22 and celebrating my first wedding anniversary the first time I hosted Thanksgiving. I was up all hours of the night preparing and was horrified when we began carving the turkey table side - only to discover that our bird still had a bag of something inside.
As you can tell by the time of my post - I'm still up all hours of the night before Thanksgiving - however in the 15 years since my first experience, I'm smart enough to stick to baking and leave the bird to someone else!
