Eastie in the news

There are a pair of stories involving East Boston in today's Boston Sunday Globe:

*Bishop Robert Hennessey will say Mass on Easter Sunday at Mount Carmel Church, which has been occupied by parishioners since the archdiocese closed it in the fall of 2004.

*East Boston-based freelance writer and Globe contributer Elizabeth Gehrman catches up with state Rep. Carlo Basile a little more than four months into his term to see how it's going.

I know that it's only been a short time in office for Mr. Basile. However, I will say, we the people of East Boston should be very proud. In the past, I have not felt this good about any other Rep/Polititian. However, this particular man has what it takes to lead this fine Community into the future. Mr. Basile has already done his fair share for me and my family and I am forever grateful. It was something very small but it meant so much to all of us. When I walk down the streets of our fine city, I hear nothing but nice things about Mr. Basile. Obviously, he's already made a big difference and I believe we should do our part and show him our support.

Yea - now if he could just do something about that Land Use Council we would be all better off! Keep up the good work Carlos!

Jimbo, I just wanted to state that although I didn't support Carlo Basile this past election I've gotten to know him and I like him alot. He seems to be a family man and he is at every meeting that I attend. I hope he serves East Boston well and he has my support the next time around.

Hey Anon;
Heres an idea !

Try attending a meeting of the L.U.C.,take the floor ,and tell us what you think.

Go to www.eastboston.com and click open the link for the meeting schedule.

Its free,but you would need to introduce yourself,and be respectful in the way you deliver your feelings & comments.

We are always open to the public,and your right to be heard is assured.

L.U.C.member since 1995 !!!!

Have a nice Day everyone.

p.s. "Carlo" is a class act!

I agree I think Rep. Basile is doing a fine job. I think East Boston made the right choice by picking such a great Rep. I think our City Councilor should take lesson's from our newly elected State Representative. I applaud you Representative Basile your on your way all the way to the top. Looking forward to a improved East Boston with you as our Representative.
