A passage to Chelsea

The state transportation blog has an entry about the building of a new Chelsea Street Bridge, which is scheduled to be completed by 2012. According to the Governor Patrick, some of the money for the project is coming from President Obama's stimulus package.

That's because by the time it opens, there will be tolling without booths. You know that chip in the inspection sticker that they claim is for a mileage taxing scheme? Well, welcome to a brave new world.

Ohhhhhhh Jim,

Hate to point out a trendous flaw in your graph about the bridge but almost 80 percent was already put into the federal transportation bond bill almost three years ago by Rep. Capuano.
Really has nothing to do with stimulus money it was just a matter of the bond being authorized.
Oh my God, what will your readers think when they find out that the infallible Jim has printed wrong info.
Perhaps it's not just the Times that makes mistakes.

Anyone who knows me has no doubts that I'm as fallible as the next guy -- and that I try to be open to legitimate criticism. On this matter, however, I clearly wrote that the connection between the stimulus and the bridge is "according to Governor Patrick." That seems a fair assessment to me.

nice looking bridge, this project was due, thanks to the stimulas package money, it will beautify the area, the odor of crude oil will remain, along with other pollutants which include exhaust fumes from airplanes, plus massport buses, Hack jobs for this construction project will be divided by politically connected blue collar eastie and chelsea residents, i assume there are not too many civil engineers in east boston, if there were they can assist in the white collar end of this project.who will they name the bridge after stay tuned.
