Hello
Would like to take a poll of the posters.
1_Do you think Jeffs affiliation with the Mayor, hurt him ,or heelped him?

2-Do you think the Unpunished Tequilas also hurt Jeff?

**Esp. that his treasurer is Mie Ford the attorney representing Tequilas?*****

3-Do you think The Parking Ticket scandal hurt Jeff?

4-Is this the beginning of a one - two punch ,with the City Councilor race about to happen?

Thanks,its just an informal survey.

Please to the host Id like your opinion also.

... GRAT... at last, no machine man in the seat....
now, Berninger can go back to massport and start learning and understanding more the immigrant communities, not only in East Boston, but in other communities...Jeff can stick to the city hall and for MOTA, well, there is something there for the future...

For all those campaign workers on all sides that gave their time, effort, sacrifices and hearts to their candidates...BRAVO.You folks were the winners because of your unselfishness and relentless devotion to your cause.East Boston will probably never again see such a spectacular effort by all.Your individual work should never go un-noticed.Take a bow,you deserve it!!

Congrats Carlo on a job welll done! you deserved it more than anybody!! you truly are a class act!!

Says First to
Mar Berninger; What a class act you are .You are a great woman who should continue on your quest to help change the Political face of East Boston.
You kept it real, and you kept it clean.A very hard thing when you are the underdog.

Second to
OUR NEW STATE RRERESENTATIVE Mr.Carlo Basile.

Congratualtions on your victory. You deserved it.

Now I don't want to be to pushy ,but
Please remember the Burger King meeting tonight September 26 th ,6:15 p.m. at the Uman Barnes / Harborside center,312 Border street East bostobn.

To Jeff:
Who I consider a friend ,no matter what anyone has to say:I hope the next time you run ,maybe for a City Council at Large seat that you surround yourself with different people."I know loyalty is a good thing, but at times can be a bad thing".

"In my opinion you lost because of that very reason",not because of Jeff Drago the man.

To Gloribell:

As I said when I had a coffee with you,I will say again.
You,or any Latino candidate can have any seat you want, once you can get those Latinos who are here legally registered to vote ,and organized.

"Once done no one will be able to stop any Latino candidate ,not only in EASTIE BUT EVERY WHERE

God Bless Everyone, and lets move on.

Remember Burger King tonight .

Lets all stick together because we are one East Boston

Informal poll

1 affiliation with the Mayor - HURT

2 Unpunished Tequilas - HURT

3 Parking Ticket scandal - HURT

4 One - two punch - YOU KNOW IT

Unfortunately, this was a world of hurt for Jeff. Maybe as he gets older he will get smarter and gain more wisdom... and learn that there are times when you need to stand on your own and not count on other people to drive your campaign.

Congratulations Carlo. Do a good job for us all!

In response to the below post:
I am not a sore loser and your right the election is over which means it all needs to stop. I'm not divided nor am I trying to divide anyone, simply the nonsense needs to end. Election day is passed and what happens now should all be in the best interest of the citizens of East Boston. I am at all the important community meetings and thanks for the invite to speak to Carlo personally...I will decline since I have already done so.
Let us stay united as a community. After all everything that goes on and happens in our community affects all of us. Staying united is in the best interest of everyone.
Jimbo, thanks for a job well done on your blogs. They are informative and we appreciate your time and effort into them.

To Eastie Resident: Carlo will be at the meeting tonight so why don't you show some guts and approach him like the big man that you are!
Get over it the election is over and the people have spoken. Lets all get along and not be sore losers. People like you are the ones who divide this community.
Again, if your big enough go up to Carlo tonight

Anonymous said...

Jimbo why did you just delete 5 post? I'm confused.

Jim said...

The divisiveness needs to stop now ... at least on this blog. I can't spend my time reading posts to decide if negative comments "cross the line" or if they don't. I am just going to delete any comments that are negative toward any individual.

The campaign is over, let's move on. Plus, I don't need people blaming me for being the conduit for negative comments about them. If you have something nasty to say, say it to the target's face or start your own blog.

Gresat job STATE REP Carlo we are all proud of you. You ran a great campaign and i know i was in the headquarters everynight and stood behind him all the way. And to Jeff Drago you showed class by coming to our Victory party and it was a great speech. God Bless you Carlo finally the machine is crumbling and you are the top man they all need you.
Sal enjoy your last term as a politician because you are all done. Our campaign worked against Menino,Trav,Petrucelli,Lamattina,Nucci and we overcame them all real working people beat the politicians

Jimbo, good for you. The election is over. Everyone should just move on. Congrat sto Carlo and Jeff I admire you for you speech last night. Next time you run keep it clean. I might even help you with your campaign. If you ever decide to take a shot at Sal, the entire Basile organization will be behind you. This goes for Mary as well. I think either candiate would beat Sal. Good Luck and God Bless

Hello Everyone;

Jimbo your last post was 100 % correct ,its over, and time to move on!

S0 I was thinking maybe a Poem might help !I promise nothing negative.

Title;

"A PROUD COMMUNITY IS WHAT WE ARE"

East Bostons who we are,Thats Right!

A Proud Community that knows its not being treated right, and
Has finally decided its time to Fight!

A Proud Community that now Refuses,
to listen anymore, to the usual City Hall Excuses!

A Proud Community that has seen the Light, and
Who has just begun to make that Light Shine Bright!

A Proud Community that should Stand Up Tall,
Because East Boston you just proved "We Can Have It All"!

I would simply say that Carlo should keep in mind that more than 50% of those who voted, did so for another candidate. Further, the turnout of 4,000 may be decent for a primary, but it us still far short of all registered and eligible voters...and the roughly 40,000 residents of the district. His job will be to represent us all...and not just those who supported him.

Anonymous said...

Carlo will represent this whole district and not only his supporters. He is for everyone

Says to Brain;

As Jimbo says its time to move on.

The only percentage that matters,or counts is the Total Votes.

So to everyone lets "Move On".

It was a fair race, and everyone who worked for any candidate should feel proud.

Accept that Change is good.

Just look at the poem posted a few posts above this one.

It reflects the signs of the times ,but is not negative,or making any excuses.

I wish our Community Luck,as we still have a lot more work a head of us. No One Man will solve all of our troubles, and if you think that,I have some land on the Moon for sale.

To "anonymous" I would ask that you read and try to comprehend more carefully the posts I contribute for public consideration. Please don't lecture me, or any poster here, simply because you wish to make a personal point. Most people would do well if they stopped and asked whether their thoughts actually contributed to a conversation before they spoke (or in this case wrote).

My post did not detract from any victor, but made a point that has been lost by many leaders (on many sides) over the past few years. That the majority (or less) should not "rule" as if they speak for all. Notice I said that more than half of all votes cast were for another candidate. I did not say they were against the victor.

More importantly, my post focused on what I though would be constructive advise. The reality is that I would have the same advice for any candidate in this election as it was almost certain that no one would achieve a majority support.

So my comments stand as first stated. I hope the representative (near elect) choses to represent the district as a whole. As a voting citizen, I will be sure to let him know if I ever feel that he is doing otherwise.

Jimbo, thanks for the blog. It was a good tension reliever. Carlo won by running a clean campaign. Jeff entered manhood by showing up last night at Carlo's victory party. It was not an easy thing to do. Carlo will be for everyone in East Boston, he will represent us all well. I want to personally thank Dave Arinella, Joseph Ruggiero, Michael Othmer(worth his weight in gold), Celeste Myers, The Kernal(a very loyal and hard working man) The Kernal's wife( just as hard worker) and the entire organization. During this campaign I have made friends that will last a life time. I am so very proud of each and everyone of you. Last Saturday's standout was amazing and I'm so happy that I was part of it. Carlo make us all proud. I love you and wish you the very best.

Anonymous said...

Brian, 522 votes in this election equals a blow out. Carlo will in fact represent everyone in East Boston. The 4495 votes was alot higher than most people expected. I might be wrong but I think its a record for East Boston. Only 3200 can out to vote for Petrucelli's Senate race.
When are candidates going to learn that voters hate negative campaigns?
That 1350 dollar ad was really sad. Who ever came up with that should resign from campaigning. By the way all those phone calls pissed people off. Peace

To all those people out there that EVER doubted the BASILE campaign and jumped on the DRAGO bandwagon how do you feel.....next time vote with your conscience not because someone told you to

Looks like a step in the right direction.

Question:
Did the Leone TRAGEDY hurt jeff in the election???
Answer: You Bet !!!
I think the whole issue could have been resolved in a civilized manner.Instead of Jeff hurting them finacially and emotionally. As the spokesperson for Wordsworth Street,he should have taken the approach: "How can I Help You"

Interested in the issues said...

The Leones' had options that they refused which has been verified by the LUC. Enough with placing all the blame with one person. Jeff lost this election with class and that showed through and through via his speech at Basiles victory party. Enough with all this. Let Jeff go back to his life out of the spotlight. He deserves that and more.

Anonymous said...

Interested with the issues: This is the first time that you and I agree in this election. Jeff had alot of class and Carlo thinks Jeff had alot of class. Carlo and Jeff will get along great, trust me I know because live with him.
God Bless you Jeff

Anonymous said...

I still believe "interested in the issues" and Eastie resident are the same person but for once I will agree, leave Jeff alone. the election is over. I'm glad Carlo won. If anyone knows Carlo then they know that he doesn't stand for taunting anyone. He shook Jeff's hand and the bull**** is over. I'm sure Carlo will work with Jeff in the future to make east Boston the best place it can be. Jimbo is doing a great job with the blog. We should all be interested in other issues. Electiuon is over, go in peace

Says to Interested in the issues;

Please do not even respond to the Always Negative Anon (the one still moaning about the Leones)

Point of Factual information;Mr.Leone Sr. is a licensed plumber who knows the laws of the permit process very well.

Jef did not pull the Permit

Jeff did not work outside the scope of the permit

Jeff did not refuse Legal help from 2 personal attorneys hired by the family ,and

Jeff did not refuse the L.U.C.'s attorneys advice

Jeff did not attend the L.U.C.Meeting where all hell broke loose.

Jeff did what he was told,Stay Home!

So Interested ,just ignore him,as he isn't even an Eastie Resident. He refused my 1000.00 dollar challenge on numerous posts to prove he lives here.

I wan't people to refocus on the sexual predator that is still out there,
and let Jeff have a little peace. The election is over!He is a decent man,and his Mother is a very nice lady!

God Bless

Interested in the issues said...

On the sexual predator note. I haven't been able to find out if they ruled the perp they arrested in or out as far as the labor day assaults. Anyone hear anything else besides the fact that this kid got arrested for the attack on Lexington Street? Thx.

I haven't heard anything either regarding the sexual assualts. Has anyone been arrested?

Bluemassgroup.com has a story on carlo basile on how he contributed money to Kerry Healey for her past election. It was about the concerned democrats in the state house who are focused on Mr Basiles past dealings with the Republican Party, they call Mr Basile an Undercover Elephant .
If Kerry Healey run's again in the next election for governor and wins the nomination and with a little undercover assistance from Carlo Basile and his supporters, who knows, he might switch partys and end up as a republican, and perhaps Kerry Healey could appoint him a high level position such as masspike director or secretary of state.

Interested in the issues said...

A correction to my earlier post...I meant the recent assault on Falcon Street in which the 18 year old East Boston kid was arrested. Still waiting to read or hear somewhere whether he has been ruled out as far as the labor day attacks go. Would love some info if anyone out there has any. Thx.

Anonymous said...

Earth to another Anonymous: the secretary of state is not appointed by the governor, it's an elected position. Let's not get ahead of yourself, but at least have your civics information correct.

Anonymous said...

Healey has no chance, but, Patrick may very well be a one term Gov. With that being said, I think it will be interesting to see who the GOP runs the next time around.

Says to the never ending campaign of Anons quest to justify the outcome of the race as illegitimate because of He Said/She Said B.S..

To me you are only disrespecting Mr. Drago by continuing to be a divider.

Get over it,and move to East Boston ,and run for a Political seat.

As far as the arrest of the suspect,I was told they are waiting for D.N.A.tests from him,and the inside of the hat the creep wore in the park.

That can take weeks to do.

But we need to have a follow up meeting as soon as possible.

If any of you wan't to help organize one. Please e-mail me at eblandusecouncil@aol.com.

Be warned though ,if I get any nasty, vulger,or harrassing e-mails ,I can assure you I can locate your computers thumbprint, and your location in an instant.

Lets be uniters,and not dividers!
